Anyone aged 18 or older with a valid email can create a FundMe account and start fundraising. Registered organizations and nonprofits can also raise funds, provided they follow Kenyan laws and regulations. 3. How do I start a fundraising campaign on FundMe? Sign up or log in to your FundMe account. Click “Start a Campaign” and fill in your campaign title, description, target amount, and duration. Add images or videos to make your campaign more engaging. Submit your campaign for approval. Once approved, your campaign goes live, and you can start receiving donations instantly. 4. What fees does FundMe charge? FundMe charges a platform fee of 3.5% on all donations. Payment processing fees may also apply. All fees are automatically deducted, so the remaining funds are transferred directly to you. 5. How can donors contribute? Donors can give using M-Pesa, credit/debit cards, or other secure online payment options. FundMe ensures all transactions are safe and encrypted. 6. When will I receive my fundraising money? Funds are available instantly upon request after your campaign is verified. This ensures you have immediate access to your donations whenever you need them. 7. Can I cancel a campaign on FundMe? Yes, campaigns can be canceled at any time. Existing donations will be refunded to contributors, minus any applicable fees. 8. What is FundMe’s refund policy? Donations are generally non-refundable unless the campaign is canceled by you or by FundMe for violating terms. Refunds may also be issued in case of technical issues or fraud. 9. What types of campaigns are not allowed? How does FundMe protect my data? FundMe uses industry-standard security measures and encryption to protect your personal and financial data. Information is never shared without consent, except as required by law. 11. Can FundMe remove or refuse a campaign? Yes. FundMe can remove or suspend campaigns that violate the terms, contain false information, or are harmful or offensive. 12. Who owns the funds raised? All funds raised belong to the campaign creator. FundMe acts as a secure intermediary, facilitating instant fund transfers and ensuring compliance with platform rules. 13. What happens if I don’t reach my fundraising goal? Even if your campaign doesn’t hit the target, all collected funds can be accessed instantly upon request, minus applicable fees. FundMe does not require campaigns to meet the goal to receive donations. 14. Can I edit my campaign after it goes live? Yes, you can update your campaign description, images, or fundraising target. Major changes may require re-approval to maintain transparency. 15. How do I report issues or disputes? If you face problems, you can contact FundMe support via the “Contact Us” page.
